Informal Informational Meetings
Citizens for Fair Valuation had an informal informational meeting with stakeholders on January 29, 2008. A second stakeholders meeting was held on May 13, 2008. Based upon the success of these meetings, CFV will organize similar follow up meetings as we grow and move forward.
We invite you to get to know Citizens for Fair Valuation, a coalition representing businesses in Hawaii which collectively provide thousands of local jobs, pay millions of dollars in state and city taxes and which are vital to Hawaii's economy.
We are Hawaii businesses that lease commercial and industrial properties under long-term ground leases from large landowners whose land holdings are concentrated in certain geographic areas of Oahu.
We are concerned about the valuations and rents being set for these properties in lease rent reopenings and what will happen to Hawaii if we allow the valuation and rent problem to continue.
We believe that by working together we can promote greater fairness in the determination of these values and rents and we hope you will agree how very important it is for all of us to do so.
Our mission is to act as an exchange and a voice on these issues, one that will constructively ensure that long-term commercial and industrial ground rents are determined fairly in rent reopenings on the basis of sound economic principles.
We want to protect the interests of our local lessees, consumers and workers, and the economy of our State. If you have questions, please call our President Bob Creps at (808) 674-5201 or write to rcreps@gracepacificCorp.com.
